From The President

At our core, we sell information integrity. That means we do what we say we will do consistently, transparently, and with accountability. Our industry partners trust us because we deliver reliable solutions and stand behind every commitment we make.

We believe in building long-term partnerships, not just completing one-time transactions. By working closely with our suppliers and customers and understanding their evolving needs, we create lasting relationships grounded in trust, performance, and shared success.

Thank you for the opportunity to serve you.

Jack Emmer, President

Founding Story

Buckeye Pacific was born from a simple yet powerful idea: to provide honest, reliable lumber solutions to a growing regional market. What began as a modest operation driven by a few dedicated individuals has grown into a cornerstone of the local business landscape. Our early days were defined by a relentless focus on quality and a commitment to building personal relationships with every client.

Forest City Trading Group, Buckeye's parent company, traces its roots to 1921, when Polish immigrants in Cleveland, Ohio entered the lumber industry. What began as a single lumber yard grew into a network of companies across the wood products industry. By 1950, FCTG had become the largest forest products yard in the Upper Midwest. That same year, Buckeye was established in the PNW as a buying office to build relationships with sawmills and manage railcar procurement. Buckeye evolved into it's own wholesale trading company and today operates as a full-service, employee-owned lumber distribution business. In present day, 1 in every 10 homes built in the US contains a product traded by FCTG.
