If anyone at Buckeye resembles a lumberjack, it’s Jesse! This bearded flannel-lover grew up involved in the harvest side of the wood products industry, such as working in lumber mills and fighting forest fires. After obtaining his degree from Linfield College in International Business Economics, with a minor in German Language Studies, Jesse started trading at Buckeye in 2014. He spends his free time outdoors and keeping up his German language fluency.

Quincee joined Buckeye Pacific in 2025 as a Trader Trainee. She grew up on a farm in Molalla, Oregon and recently graduated from Oregon State University with a degree in Business Analytics. Prior to joining the team, she spent four years as a barista.

A native Oregonian and graduate of Portland State University, Jared is a family man who loves spending time coaching his kids’ sports teams and relaxing at the coast. Justin Boyer

Justin has so much to be proud of – he started as a “cleanup kid” at a wood treating plant in 2001 and is now a successful trader for Buckeye Pacific. In addition to spending time with his wife, 6 children, dogs, chickens, and goldfish, Justin is a true outdoorsman who enjoys hunting, fishing, and hiking. A nugget of wisdom from Justin: “If you always tell the truth, you never have to remember what you said.”

Calvin Carey

Calvin grew up in Bend, Oregon, and is a graduate of the University of Oregon with a BS in Business & Economics. He started trading at Buckeye Pacific in 2018. In his free time, he enjoys going to concerts, playing fantasy football, and watching stand-up comedy. A fun fact about Calvin is that he and his wife share the same birthday. Peyton Carey

Peyton is from Roseburg, Oregon. In 2014 he graduated from the University of Oregon, moved to Portland, and started working at Buckeye. His favorite things to do in his free time include cooking, playing golf, and gardening. Among his proudest achievements is that he has stacked an entire box of Jenga pieces on top of 1 vertical piece.

John joined Buckeye as a trader in January 2025. He grew up in West Linn, Oregon, and studied at the University of Mississippi, where he discovered his passion for sales and finance. John loves meeting new people and being part of a growing team. Outside of work, he loves to play golf and watch sports.

Matt Dierdorff

Matt’s 31 years of experience in the lumber industry, coupled with his innovative spirit, make him a solid mainstay of our team. He joined Buckeye in 2008. When he’s not in Montana visiting family with his wife Branda and their two kids, an adventurous streak keeps Matt busy with other pursuits – such as scuba diving and skiing. Matt can also be found hunting, fishing, and coaching his childrens’ sports teams.

John Edwards

John started his career in the lumber industry in 2006 and joined Buckeye in 2010. Outside of work, he loves spending time with his wife of over 24 years and their two kids. A few of John’s hobbies include playing golf, working out, and helping his parents on their fruit and vegetable farm in Walla Walla, Washington. His favorite quote is from Michael Jordan: “I can accept failure; everyone fails at something. But I can’t accept not trying.”

Jake, a native of Sutherlin, Oregon, is an Eastern/Euro SPF Trader who joined the Buckeye team in 2018. In his free time, he enjoys playing golf, following the Ravens, and keeping up with fantasy football. He also loves to catch live comedy shows and concerts. Jake’s favorite quote: “Potatoes! Boil ’em, mash ’em, stick ’em in a stew.”

Dom Forrest

Dom, a Portland native, joined Buckeye’s US Lumber Department in 2024, where he trades a wide range of species and products. He holds a business management degree from Linfield College and an education degree from the University of Portland and even spent time as a middle school math and science teacher. In his free time, he enjoys sports, live music, and spending time with family, friends, and his pet cat, Tootie. Dom’s favorite quote: “Fall down seven times, stand up eight.”

Jordan Herron

Jordan joined the Buckeye Mats team in early 2019 with 5 years of experience as a sales representative in the building materials industry in the Pacific Northwest. Jordan was born and raised in Indiana and attended Indiana University. He moved to Portland in 2011 and has loved every minute of it. He enjoys spending his time away from work playing basketball, golfing, and socializing with friends and family.

Bill Hetland

Bill served in the US Navy for 4 years, then attended Oregon State University and graduated in 1990. He is one of the most seasoned traders at Buckeye, with almost 25 years under his belt. Bill loves weekends away at his cabin.

Josh joined Buckeye in 2019 and now leads the U.S. Lumber Department. He was born in Junction City, OR, holds a degree from Oregon State University, and is a U.S. Army Airborne Infantry veteran. Josh enjoys spending time with his wife, Sydney, and their two daughters, Harper and Hazel.

Tyler became a part of the Buckeye team in the fall of 2020. He is an Oregon Institute of Technology graduate, where he studied Operations Management and played on their national championship team. He enjoys wake surfing, playing basketball, and going on hikes.

I was raised in San Diego, CA where spent my time playing basketball, volleyball and surfing. I then went to college at Purdue – Fort Wayne where I played Division I volleyball and studied finance. After college I went overseas to play volleyball professionally in Germany, Romania, Estonia and Spain. I then came back to the US and moved up to Portland to start working here at Buckeye. I spend my free time now working on my golf game and exploring my new home in the Pacific Northwest.

Joseph Mabbott

This Portland, Oregon native graduated from Portland State University with a degree in Supply Chain Management and Logistics. Joseph worked six years in warehousing and production for a sports apparel company before looking into the great world of compliance and imports. Joseph and his wife, Paige, have a Bernese-Border Collie mix and a Aussie-Pitbull mix at home, named Huxley and Crowley. Joseph enjoys adventuring on his NC700X Honda and spending his remaining time with his wife and dogs.

Tracy Martin

Tracy joined Buckeye in 2018 with over 15 years of credit management experience in the construction wholesale and distribution industry. She leads the credit department and is responsible for the oversight of our accounts receivables department for the company. Tracy is the proud mother of two sons. She enjoys spending time with her family, playing and watching soccer and being in the outdoors.

Bill started working in the industry in 1995, and joined Buckeye Pacific in the fall of 2019. Bill has been married to his wife Kate since 1992 and they have quite a circus at home with 5 kids and 3 dogs! He enjoys yoga, a game of football, and dates with Kate. Most importantly, this Gemini is passionate about his work and personal relationships. His longevity and dedication allows him to maneuver through any type of market conditions with his vendors and customers.

Megan Matos

Import Department – Trading Assistant

Megan was born in Portland and raised in Scottsdale, Arizona. She went on to attend FIDM in Los Angeles, then worked in the fashion industry before her father, Bill Matos, got her into the wood products industry. She joined the Buckeye Pacific in 2019 and loves spending her free time with her husband, daughter, parents, and her 4 older siblings! Megan also enjoys home design and DIY projects and staying active with Pilates.

Jackson McCormick

Jackson earned his degree in agribusiness from Kansas State University in 2021 and joined us at Buckeye shortly after. So far Jackson is enjoying what the Pacific Northwest has to offer, particularly Blazers and Timbers games.

Spencer McKinnon

Spencer’s roots with Buckeye and Forest City Trading Group go way back: his father, Jack McKinnon, was the Charmain of the Board of FCTG until his passing in 1989. Jack guided the company through two decades of growth, leading with determination and patience. Spencer joined the family business in 2009, and has certainly made his own mark on Buckeye. His personality and sense of humor bring a lot of life to our trading floor! He is a U of O alum and Duck fanatic, and is a devoted dog-dad to three pooches named Arthur Fonzarelli, Walker Texas Ranger, and Tank.

A recent graduate of California State University Northridge with a degree in business marketing, Jack started with Buckeye Mats in 2021. Jack makes music and watches sports in his free time.

Steve McNulty

Steve joined the Buckeye Mats team in 2015 with nine years’ experience in the crane mat industry. Prior to that he brings over 20 years of experience trading commodity lumber products. Steve assembled the mat team based on the mission statement, “To provide our customers and suppliers with the very best service, quality and prices available. We believe it all starts with the selection of the team and our core values.” Steve played basketball at Hawaii Pacific University and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics. He and his wife Cindy have three daughters and one son. In their free time they enjoy spending time at the beach and exploring new places.

With over 35 years of experience in the industry, Dave brings expertise to our Import Industrial Department. He has been at Buckeye since 2010. A native Seattleite, he is a University of Washington alum (Go Dawgs!), who enjoys skiing, golfing, & fishing.

Aubrey completed an internship at Buckeye the summer before his senior year at Oregon State University, and came back to work with us after graduating with honors from the College of Forestry. Aubrey’s favorite piece of wisdom? “Twenty years from now you’ll be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do.”

Kameron Morgan

Kam Joined Buckeye Mats in the summer of 2024, bringing a diverse background including roles as a Warranty Manager at a boat dealership, Sales experience, and work as a bartender/barback in San Diego.

Originally from Oregon, Kam returned to his home state to start his career at Buckeye Mats and be closer to family and friends. When he’s not selling mats, Kam enjoys hunting, fishing, surfing, golfing, and more.

Former fabricator and machinist from Molalla, Alex joined Buckeye in 2022 and enjoys camping and outdoor activities with his friends and family.

We lucked out and snagged Ian from the east coast after he graduated from Binghamton University earlier this year. Ian enjoys travelling (he’s been to 13 countries outside the US), sports, and outdoor activities.

Bjorn Prandtner

Bjorn joins Buckeye from the East Coast! After graduating from Dickinson College, he worked for a consulting firm in Virginia, following this, he served in the Germany military (his home country). In his free time, he likes doing anything sports related and spending time in the outdoors.

Sawyer joined the Buckeye team in 2022. He grew up in Seaside, OR and graduated from Oregon State University with a degree in finance. There are three words that describe Sawyer well: Creative, competitive, and charismatic. What great addition to our thriving company culture!

Mark has been a part of the of Buckeye Pacific trading team since 1997. He enjoys building relationships with his customers and thrives in the family atmosphere at Buckeye. He’s passionate about college football (Go Ducks!) and cruising the Willamette river with his wife.

Mason is from Roseburg, OR, and started at Buckeye Pacific in 2022. He earned a degree in Exercise and Sport Science from Oregon State University, where he was also the school’s mascot, Benny Beaver. I Found my way to Buckeye through school and after interning, joined Buckeye Pacific full time, finding my way to the crane mat department. Mike was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, with roots in the trade—his grandfather founded a truss and pole barn manufacturing company well before he was born. As a trader, he’s known for being reliable, straightforward, and striving to build genuine partnerships with all his customers. When he’s not trading sticks, you’ll likely find him outdoors—fishing, camping, snowboarding, or diving the Oregon coast!

Josh joined Buckeye in 2013 and oversees the financial and administrative functions of the business. He began his career at KPMG, LLP and was a Senior Manager within the Audit and Risk Management group focusing on clients within the forest product and technology industries. Josh is a graduate of George Fox Universary with a degree in Accounting and Finance. He is also a licensed CPA in the State of Oregon.

Eric Saylor

This Roseburg, Oregon native graduated from OSU with degrees in accounting and finance. Eric worked in the banking industry out of college but transferred into sales and has been hooked ever since. He and his wife, Britta, have a mini golden doodle named Cooper. His hobbies include golf, Fantasy Football, camping, and of course enjoying the glorious offerings of PNW microbreweries!

Petar Stoyanov

Pete’s history with our company goes even further back than his several decade tenure; his father Milan Stoyanov led Buckeye for 13 years before eventually becoming the president of Forest City Trading Group in 1987. Pete adds a lot of liveliness to our trading floor, and his sense of humor has helped define our laid-back company culture. When he’s not selling lumber, he likes weekly trips to the farmers’ market, and playing tennis with friends.

Carson grew up in Wilsonville, OR and graduated from the University of Oregon with a B.S. In Psychology. In 2024, he joined Buckeye Pacific as a Douglas Fir and Engineered Wood Products Supplier. Outside of work, he spends his free time golfing, traveling, hunting, camping, and flying as an instrument-commercial rated pilot.

Karrie’s favorite quote pretty much describes her career in a nutshell: “I find that the harder I work, the more luck I seem to have,” (Thomas Jefferson). She made the courageous leap from an adminstrative position to sales on a trading floor similar to ours in 2004. Karrie loves lounging on the beach in Hawaii, and is immensely proud of her two daughters she shares with her husband of 25 years.

Dylan Wilson

Dylan, a native of Roseburg, Oregon, graduated from the University of Oregon with a degree in Sociology and Business. Dylan cherishes meaningful relationships, drawing inspiration from his grandfather’s legacy driving log truck for Roseburg Forest Products for over 40 years. After working sales in multiple industries, Dylan found his niche in the lumber industry with Buckeye in 2023. Outside of work, he enjoys his passions for travel, live concerts, sporting events, and beating his friends in fantasy football.

Rich has been with Buckeye since 2001. He is an Oregon native, and fittingly loves outdoor activities and exploring the Pacific Northwest. An avid skier, fisherman, camper, and hiker, Rich can usually be found riding his bike during lunch.

I was born and raised in Laguna Niguel, California and moved to Oregon earlier last year.  I worked in retail before making the switch to Buckeye Pacific in March 2023. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, making new connections and trying new things. I’m very excited for what my future holds in Oregon and with Buckeye!
